The Plesk module requires OUTGOING port 8443 OPEN on the firewall of your AWBS Server.

Plesk Specific for AWBS 2.7.4 and Above

This document is written assuming you have the Client and Domain Templates setup in Plesk already. If you need assistance with this, please see the Plesk Documentation

Setup Server Group(s)

See Hosting Configuration page

Setup the Plesk Server(s)

Go to Server Setup and click Add New. Enter information asked for in the New Server Wizard. When you have completed adding all Plesk servers, go back to the server groups page and assign the correct default server. (Save the groups even if they show the correct default server)

Below are some details for your assistance:

  • Server Name: Enter a server name for your reference in AWBS. Do not use spaces.
  • Server Group: Assign the server to the correct server group.
  • Server Type: Plesk
  • Server IP: Enter the server's IP address
  • Server URL: Enter the url to the server. Example: http://my.Pleskserver.com
  • Server CP: Enter the url given to customers to login to their Plesk account control panel Example: http://my.Pleskserver.com:8443
  • Server Cost: Enter your cost for this server. Used for reports only.
  • Default NS1: Enter your Plesk nameserver 1 here
  • Default NS2: Enter your Plesk nameserver 2 here
  • Server User: Enter the Plesk username here. (Preferably Admin)
  • Server Password: Enter your Plesk Password here.
  • Update hosting list IP(s): Check if you are changing an existing Plesk server's IP address. This will update all existing hosting packages assigned to this server.
  • Update hosting list Servers: Check if you are changing the server's servername. This will update all existing hosting packages assigned to this server.
  • Delete Record: Only check this box if you are deleting this server. Caution: DO NOT delete a server that has plans and user packages assigned!

Configure your Hosting Package Types

  • Configure types for hosting packages. Each type will display a web page for ordering.
  • Use additional types to create multiple hosting order pages. Most people use the types to group their various hosting plan types, i.e. linux hosting type 1, windows hosting type 2.
  • User Group: Should be Default unless you want this page only viewable by a different user group. (not the public)
  • Server Group: Select the correct server group.
  • Description: Enter what you want displayed as the title on the web page with this type of hosting
  • Details1 Name - Details6 Name: Enter display text for the various specs for the plan type. This set of specs willl be used for all hosting plans in this type.

Hint: Once you have added and saved a Hosting Package Type, you can click to view/edit it again and see the correct link to use on your menu for this web page.

Configure your Hosting Plans

  • Visible: Check if you want this plan to display on the web page.
  • Default Plan: Check if this is the default plan for the type. Each type needs to have one default plan.
  • Default Term: Enter the default term you want to display when your customers order. If you have other terms, they will get a selection to change it. Make sure the default term is a configured and available term for the plan.
  • Upgrade Group: Set the upgrade group. All plans in this group number will show up as selections when the customer chooses to upgrade their plan. All plans in the same group should be in the same server group for the auto upgrade/downgrade to function properly.
  • Package Name: Name the plan as you desire. Do not use any spaces.
  • Package Type: Select the correct package type for this plan.
  • Server Package: Enter the package name
  • Package Desc: Enter the plan description as you wish it to appear on the web page for ordering.
  • Reset BW on all existing user hosting: Check if you want to reset all bandwidth stats stored in AWBS database for all existing active accounts on this plan.
  • Reseller Plan: Check if this is a reseller plan.
  • Pricing: Enter prices for all terms you want to offer. Leave the fields blank if you don't want to offer them. Enter 0.00 if you want to offer them for free.
  • Check the Free Domain checkbox if you want to offer a free domain name with this plan/term. (Select available tlds for free domains in the system setup, TLD Setup/Pricing page by checking the Free Option checkbox beside the tld)
  • Assign the correct Activation Email Template. Be sure to either add a new email template or edit the existing Hosting Activation email template as desired to give your customers all necessary information they need when their account is activated.
  • Complete the Package Display Text section with the plan's specs.

Configuring Hosting Package Specifics

At the bottom of each page you should see Package Specifics (Needed by some Server CP's)

Configuring Hosting Package Specifics

The following details will need to be entered for your Plesk to setup plans correctly:

  • ASP dot NET: Enable/Disable ASP.net
  • Mailbox Quota (kb): Specify the amount of disk space in kilobytes that is allocated to each mailbox in a domain.
  • Manage Anon FTP: Specify whether the customer will be able to have an FTP directory where all users could download and upload files without the need to enter login and password.
  • Max Mail Redirects: Specify the number of mail redirects that can be used in a domain.
  • Manage Tomcat Apps: Specify whether the customer will be able to install Tomcat Java applications and applets on web sites through the control panel.
  • Max Mail Groups: Specify the total number of mail groups that the customer can set up.
  • Manage Dr Web AV: Specify whether client can contol Dr. Web Antivirus for their domain.
  • Max Mail Responders: Specify the number of automatic responses that can be set up in a domain.
  • Max Tomcat Apps: Specify the maximum number of Tomcat Java applications and applets that the domain owner can install in a domain.
  • Max Web Users: Specify the number of personal web pages that the domain owner can host for other users under his or her domain.
    These pages usually have web addresses like http://your-domain.com/~username.
  • Manage Physical Hosting: Specify whether the customer will be able to set up hosting accounts, modify hosting account features and switch on or off support for programming and scripting languages.
  • Max MySQL DB's: Specify the max number of MySQL Databases
  • Max MySQL Space (mb)(W): Specify the maximum disk space amount that MySQL Server databases can occupy on a domain. (Windows Only)
  • Max Maillists: Specify the number of mailing lists that the domain owner can run in a domain.
  • Max MsSQL Space (mb)(W): Specify the maximum disk space amount that Microsoft SQL Server databases can occupy on a domain. (Windows Only)
  • Max Subdomains: Specify the number of subdomains that can be hosted under this domain.
  • Max MsSQL DB's (W): Specify the max number of MsSQL Databases (Windows Only)
  • Change Domain Limits: Specify whether the customer will be able to adjust resource allotments for their account.
  • Total Mailbox Quota (mb)(W): Specify amount of hard drive space allowed for all mailboxes
  • FrontPage: Enable Frontpage
  • Create Domains: Specify whether the customer will be able to set up hosting accounts for new sites.
  • Max Domain Aliases (W): Specify the number of domain aliases that can be used for this domain. (Windows Only)
  • SSL Site: To allow SSL encryption for Web sites, select the SSL support check box. (Must have a dedicated IP)
  • Manage DNS: Specify whether the customer will be able to manage the DNS zones of his or her domains.
  • Max Shared SSL Links (W): Specify the total number of shared SSL links that the customer can use on their domains.
  • PHP: Enable/Disable PHP
  • Manage Logs: Manage log files/rotation for own domain.
  • Max IIS App Pools (W): Specify the total number of dedicated IIS application pools that the customer can allocate between their domains. (Windows Only)
  • CGI: Enable/Disable CGI
  • Manage Crons: Specify if Client can Manage Cron Jobs for their domain.
  • Site Builder: Specify whether the customer will be able to use SiteBuilder for creating and editing their web site.
  • Perl: Enable/Disable Perl
  • Manage Mail Lists: Manage Mailing Lists
  • ASP: Enable/Disable ASP
  • Manage Subdomains: Specify whether the customer will be able to set up additional sites under their domains as subdomains.
  • Python: Enable/Disable Python
  • Manage Quota: Specify whether the customer will be able to assign hard quotas on disk space for their own web sites.
  • ColdFusion: Enable/Disable ColdFusion
  • Make Backups: Specify whether the customer will be able to use the control panel's facilities to backup and restore their site.
  • SSi: Enable/Disable SSi
  • Max Domains: Specify the total number of domain names your customer will be able to host on the server.
  • Stats [?]: Prior to Plesk 8.1 this can be set to true, or false. Above Plesk 8.1 please use: awstats, webalizer, smarterstats, urchin, or none
  • Disk Space (mb): Specify the total amount of disk space allocated to a hosting account associated with the domain. This amount is measured in megabytes.
  • Custom Error Docs: Specify if domain owner has the ability to create their own error pages
  • Max Bandwidth (mb): Specify the amount of data in megabytes that can be transferred from the web site during a month.
  • Mail Service: Enable/Disable Mail Service
  • Max Mailboxes: Specify the total number of mailboxes that the customer can host on the server.
